Bainbridge Island Couples Session at Fay Bainbridge Park with Aunaya & Junior

One of my favorite parts of being a couples photographer is getting to document relationships as they truly are. While beautiful locations are always a bonus, what matters most to me is capturing the genuine connection between two people and creating images that feel authentic to their story.

Aunaya and Junior's couples session at Fay Bainbridge Park on Bainbridge Island was the perfect example of that.

From the moment we started, these two were incredibly easy to photograph. Their connection felt natural, comfortable, and genuine, which allowed me to focus less on posing and more on creating opportunities for real moments to unfold. Rather than directing every movement, I use prompts and activities that encourage couples to interact naturally with one another. The laughter, conversations, playful moments, and quiet interactions that follow are often where the most meaningful photographs are created.

Throughout the session, Aunaya and Junior fully embraced that approach. As we explored the beach together, I focused on documenting the moments that felt true to them rather than forcing anything that didn't. The result was a gallery filled with authentic connection and genuine emotion.

Fay Bainbridge Park provided a beautiful setting for the evening. The waterfront views, soft coastal light, and peaceful atmosphere complemented the session perfectly, but what truly made these images special was the connection between Aunaya and Junior. Some of my favorite photographs came from the moments when they forgot about the camera altogether and simply enjoyed being together.

Capturing authentic connection doesn't stop when the session ends. It also influences the way I edit every image. My editing style is natural, true-to-color, and timeless because I want couples to look back on their photographs years from now and remember the experience exactly as it felt. Rather than following heavy editing trends, my goal is to preserve the real colors, emotions, and atmosphere of the day in a way that will never feel outdated.
