Winter Maternity Session at Point No Point Beach: Capturing love and anticipation

It’s still a little chilly here on the Puget Sound, the kind of air that nips at your cheeks and whispers of the winter we’re just leaving behind. But even with the lingering coolness, there’s a magic in the air, especially when you’re capturing the anticipation of new life.

Recently, I had the absolute joy of photographing a beautiful couple expecting their third little one. As a Washington State photographer who adores family and maternity photography, these sessions are always close to my heart, but this one felt particularly special. We chose a quiet stretch of beach, tucked away from the busier spots. Finding that private haven was important to me; it allows the expecting parents to truly relax, connect, and embrace this fleeting moment without any distractions.

There’s something so profound about watching a couple on the cusp of welcoming a new family member. The gentle hand on the belly, the loving glances exchanged – it’s a language all its own. This session was filled with that quiet tenderness. Their excitement for their growing family was palpable, radiating warmth even against the cool breeze.
